Who are we?

Sixth Form Blog is a non-profit organisation aimed to give students in sixth form an opportunity to post blogs, articles, or research on STEM topics free of cost. We aim to encourage students to learn deeper into topics that fascinate them and then have the ability and appropriate support to write up their own original findings to be published on our platform.

To many students out there, who are keen on their extracurriculars, the idea of publishing to established journals is a lengthy process and full of strict guidelines for average sixth formers. Therefore, Sixth Form Blog helps bridge the gap between beginner friendliness and professionalism.  Publishing a piece of writing will enhance their CVs/Personal Statements and can impress academic and professional institutions.

Note: We have submitted an application to register this as a charity. We expect to hear back from the Charity Commission by Oct/Nov 2025.

Why we started this?

Earlier this year, we explored multiple possible ways to publish our research findings. We found out that most of the existing journals are of university standards and beyond. Most of the articles our peers write require a lower barrier for publication. And we could not find any which suited our needs. Then we started thinking of a platform that is sixth form friendly but also publishes high quality and peer-reviewed articles. This could be in the form of original blogs, articles, and research papers. Ultimately, this led us to set up this charity that could benefit students like us.

We believe, this is one way we can give back to the student community.
